Woman, 49, found dead at beachfront

POLICE have opened an inquest investigation after the body of a Port Elizabeth woman was found in the Hobie Beach public toilets on Monday.

Police suspect Jenny Furstenberg, 49, hanged herself by tieing a rope around the frame of one of the cubicle doors.

The body was found by a cleaner at 4pm.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said a letter addressed to the family was found next to the body.

"She was seen arriving in a car by herself earlier in the afternoon and no foul play is suspected," he said.
