Couple guilty of child sex charges

A FOSTER mother kept her composure yesterday as she was convicted on several counts of sexual assault relating to her foster child, but sobbed when her own broken childhood was relayed to the court.

The 41-year-old woman, of Parsonsvlei, was found guilty of consensual sexual penetration of a child, consensual sexual violation of a child, displaying pornographic material to a child, failure to report rape, and unlawful possession of child pornography in the Port Elizabeth High Court.

Her 40-year-old boyfriend was convicted of rape, sexual assault, displaying pornography to a child and unlawful possession of child pornography.

The couple had sex with the then 14-year-old girl in October 2011 after they forced her to watch porn and fed her drugs. - Kathryn Kimberley
