CATHOLIC diocese of Port Elizabeth bishop elect Vincent Zungu, who will be ordained at a glittering ceremony tomorrow, believes that God has prepared him for the challenge of leading the church in the city.

The bishop-elect, who was named as the new leader for the Catholic diocese of Port Elizabeth by Pope Francis at the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Rome earlier this year, will be ordained at a three-hour mass at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Missionvale Campus.

Three archbishops, 24 bishops, more than 100 clergy and about 3500 guests will attend the event – the first of its kind for the Catholic diocese of Port Elizabeth since the last bishop was ordained 28 years ago.
