Elderly PE couple attacked

AN elderly woman is recovering in Livingstone Hospital after she and her husband were attacked by robbers at their Cotswold, Port Elizabeth, home yesterday morning.
Eric Wood, 79, and his wife, Isla, 73, were attacked by two men at about 10.30am at their Cleeve Road home. The couple sustained various injuries.
Isla may have broken her knee when one of the attackers hit her with a stick and pulled her down the steps of the back porch.
All the two men eventually left with was a few rands that Eric had in his wallet. - Riaan Marais
