Alibi based on TV challenged

AN alleged murderer's alibi that he had been watching Days of Our Lives at the time of the killing fell flat yesterday when the prosecutor used the SABC TV schedule to refute his evidence.

Suspected gang member Sheldon Koesnell, 22, of Arcadia, is alleged to have shot a man in the middle of the street in front of his 12-year-old son in July last year.

After Joey Peters Nicolas fell to the ground in Yellowwood Street, Arcadia, Koesnell allegedly stepped on his lifeless body before firing more shots at him.

The devastated young boy who reportedly looked on as this unfolded, is expected to testify when the matter goes to trial in the Port Elizabeth High Court on September 15. - Kathryn Kimberley
