STILL reeling from the shocking revelations of alleged drug-smoking child rapists who preyed on younger pupils on school premises, a Humansdorp community yesterday gathered to pray for some divine intervention.
Different church congregations from the town’s KwaNomzamo township led a prayer session at Mzingisi Primary School, where a pupil of six was raped a month ago in the school toilets.
The two perpetrators were allegedly pupils at the school who had dropped out two months earlier but still hung around with their peers, who are part of a group of 12 “naughty boys”.
Using Mark 4 verses 35 to 41, about Jesus calming the storm, as the overarching message, the men and women of the cloth decided to elevate the matter to the highest being. – Zandile Mbabela
