Gathering to help colleague blossoms

AN idea to help a colleague who had fallen on financial hard times after being medically boarded has given birth to an alumni association of the now-defunct Cape College of Education.
A group of former students of the college gathered in Nelson Mandela Bay at the weekend for a fundraising event which yielded about R15000 – the bulk of it given to the struggling former teacher.
During the weekend's gathering, which was the culmination of two months of fundraising, former students decided to extend their hand further through an alumni association. - Zandile Mbabela
