Teen singer hopes to hit high note in Florida

AN Alexander Road High School pupil is using his talent to raise funds for his trip to the US later this month.

Singer and actor Luca Novello, 16, has been chosen from about 100 young South Africans to represent his country in Florida. He was one of just 400 chosen worldwide.

While aiming to raise R150000, Luca and his parents, Jacki and Adriano Novello, along with US-based family Linda and Jason Smith, have raised more than R100000 from music trivia fundraising evenings, raffles and donations since October. - Chanice Koopman
