Metro workers chased off in error

WALMER township residents accidently chased away Nelson Mandela Bay officials who were in the area to install a new transformer yesterday.
Residents went on the rampage last week after a series of power outages caused their home appliances to explode.
Among their demands was that the municipality come out to install a new transformer to prevent future outages.
When officials arrived and began digging a trench for the new transformer, residents chased them out, not knowing they were there to help. - Yoliswa Sobuwa
