Woman linked to hit squad deaths in court

THE woman who is believed to be linked to the double execution-style murder of a Uitenhage mother and her cousin two months ago, appeared briefly in the KwaNobuhle Magistrate's Court in Uitenhage yesterday.

Pumeza Holland, 28, is believed to be the intermediary between a hit squad and the notorious 28s gang who allegedly ordered the execution of the mother – a state witness – from St Albans Prison.

Holland is due to stand trial with Luyanda Fumana, 29, and Thandile Msobo, 23, for the murders.

Detectives suspect she was the main role player in organising the hit after being ordered to do so by the prison gang. - Gareth Wilson
