School rocked by rape claims

A HUMANSDORP primary school has been rocked by revelations of a pair of alleged tik-smoking child rapists – said to be former pupils aged 10 and 12 – who pounce on Grade R and 1 pupils when they go to the toilet.

Police are investigating the allegations.

The provincial Education Department is also investigating if the alleged acts happened before the boys dropped out of school in March, or afterwards.

Sordid details of the two boys' alleged acts were brought to the fore at a parents' meeting last week after the mother of a six-year-old girl reported to school authorities that her daughter had been sexually assaulted in the school's toilets on May 13.

The alleged perpetrators – although no longer pupils there – were part of a group of 12 "naughty" pupils in grades 4 to 7 who hung out in the boys' toilets and allegedly smoked the drug tik. - Zandile Mbabela
