Meals that improve learning

FULLER tummies have translated into fuller classes at a number of Nelson Mandela Bay schools which have been part of a massive breakfast initiative ensuring children never go to school hungry.

Marking World Hunger Day yesterday, New Brighton’s Kama Primary School hosted the drivers of the national “Breakfast for Better Days” campaign that has served more than two million breakfasts to  25000 pupils across the country.

The breakfast campaign – which is an initiative by Kellogg in partnership with Parmalat and FoodBank piloted in January – aims to remedy statistics that reflect that one in five children in South Africa go to school hungry.
