J-Bay killing: couple charged

A GERMAN couple will stand trial for the murder of a Jeffreys Bay businessman – despite the fact that his body was never found. Kristina Adler, 38, and her common law husband, Jens Leunberg, 36, were charged in the Port Elizabeth High Court yesterday. The two also face criminal charges in Germany, details of which have not yet been brought to light. The pair are accused of defrauding farm owner Claus Schroeder in 2007, before ultimately murdering him in August 2009. His body was never recovered. For the first time since their arrests in 2011, details of the alleged murder were made public. - Kathryn Kimberley
