March against modified foods

NELSON Mandela Bay residents have been invited to join millions of other activists around the world in a March against Monsanto (MAM) which demands that genetically modified organisms products be labelled.

The march will start at 10am on Saturday at the City Hall, with participants requested to wear white and red and encouraged to bring banners and posters.

MAM is aimed at protecting food supplies and the environment.

Tami Monroe Canal, founder of MAM, blames Monsanto – a publicly traded US multinational chemical and agricultural biotechnology corporation – for the introduction of genetically modified organisms.
