Axed Sadtu boss fights on

SOUTH African DemocraticTeachers' Union (Sadtu) president Thobile Ntola said his expulsion from the organisation was just a way of treating the symptoms and not addressing the greater sickness of the union.

He said this was the selling out of the working class and pandering to the ANC.

Ntola, who is being encouraged by his comrades to appeal against his axing from the union he co-founded 24 years ago, said he was not surprised by the disciplinary outcome of his nine- month suspension.

He said he was sad to find himself out of the union and being silenced for not being afraid to point out the government's flaws. - Zandile Mbabela
