ANC election celebrations at KwaNgqoko’s Place in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, were abruptly cut short when one of the patrons was shot dead.

KwaNgqoko’s Place, which is situated in a cul-de-sac, is one of the most popular meeting and socialising establishments in the township and has attracted big names in South African politics.

The shooting incident happened after midnight on Sunday when the victim, in his 30s, was seen having fun at the venue. – Yoliswa Sobuwa
