Man incinerated in Bay substation blast
By TMG Editor - 20 May 2014
AN unidentified Port Elizabeth man was incinerated after an alleged attempted cable theft at the Miltonia power substation in Malabar yesterday.
Municipal workers at the scene believe the man died from a massive 11000-volt electric shock when cutting the cables, causing an explosion that left the whole of Malabar without electricity yesterday.
The charred remains consisted of only a few bones and a piece of striped material believed to be from the shirt the victim was wearing. - Alvené du Plessis
