A Port Elizabeth woman without a colon, hopes her second miraculous win at the world waveski surfing championships will inspire others.

Sandra Pienaar, 46, of Summerstrand, overcame the odds when she successfully defended her women’s world No1 title at the championships held in Durban on May 3.

Pienaar, who had her colon removed in 2008 due to complications as a result of a birth defect, was told by doctors that she would never compete again.  – Kathryn Kimberley
