New start for rape survivor

THREE years after she was badly injured during a brutal rape attack, an eight-year-old girl from Motherwell was finally free of her colostomy bag this week.

"She is very happy. She runs around here playing with the other children and enjoying all the attention," Dora Nginza Hospital social worker Pamela Rubushe said.

"Her mother told me this morning that she is the happiest woman in the world," she said. - Estelle Ellis
