THE R29-million facelift of the Opera House in Port Elizabeth came to an abrupt standstill yesterday when builders were threatened by disgruntled members of small construction businesses.
Sub-contractors working at the theatre closed the site indefinitely around noon after dozens of angry people arrived at the city landmark, blocking part of the road and threatening employees.
