Killer's 'demon' drama in court

THERE were chaotic scenes in the Port Elizabeth High Court when a convicted murderer and child rapist went berserk after suffering a psychotic episode described as "demonic possession" yesterday.

The Motherwell man, who was found guilty of murdering his mother and raping his 10-year-old sister in 2011, shocked onlookers when he began ranting in a strange language and having a violent fit.

Shortly after Judge Phakamisa Tshiki delivered his guilty verdict, the 23-year-old man – who cannot be named to protect his young sister – screamed out loud and started chanting in a gruff voice and babbling incoherently. - Lee-Anne Butler
