Avril sets demands in divorce

HEATED divorce proceedings between Avril Gordon and her "monster" husband Frederick started in Port Elizabeth yesterday.

Avril, 54, who cannot work or care for herself as a result of the extensive injuries caused by Gordon, who has since been imprisoned, has demanded he continue to pay her medical bills.

She is blind in one eye, partially deaf and battles to walk as a result of the constant abuse at their Forest Hill flat between November 2010 and March 2011.

Avril is also demanding Gordon's South African National Defence Force (SANDF) pension as a result of her pain and suffering.

Gordon, 53, who was employed as a sergeant, has since been dismissed from the force and the medical cover they shared ran out 90 days after sentencing.

Avril, who has landed in and out of hospital as a result of the injuries, said she desperately needed medical cover.
