THERE have been six incidents in which youths from an initiative to groom young Nelson Mandela Bay entrepreneurs from the disadvantaged areas have been accosted by armed robbers in the Glendinningvale area in recent months.

The robberies – of students at the EP Children’s Home’s Ray Mhlaba Skills Training Centre in Conyngham Road – occurred on the doorstep of the Mount Road police station, about 1km away.

Centre manager Caroline Ferreira said she was shocked at the spate of robberies since January, particularly in the past three weeks.
