Accused in gang case apply for bail

BAIL proceedings for three suspected warring gang members started yesterday under heavy police guard at the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court. Wendell Petersen, 27, of Holland Park, Graven Greeff, 25, of Heath Park, and Hans Jordaan, 30, of Bloemendal, said they would plead not guilty to charges of attempted murder, unlawful possession of semi-automatic firearms and ammunition, public violence and discharging a firearm in a built-up area or public place. They were arrested last month after they allegedly tried to shoot each other at the Total garage in Stanford Road on March 22. - Kathryn Kimberley
