A PARAGLIDER was airlifted to a Port Elizabeth hospital after a freak accident on Lady’s Slipper yesterday afternoon.

Lee Oshman, of Port Elizabeth, crashed into a tree on the edge of the mountain during take-off, breaking a leg in several places.

He was flown by helicopter to Greenacres Hospital.

Oshman, who is in his 20s, was still in the process of settling into his glider when he went over the edge of the mountain and hit the only tree standing tall among low bushes along the ridge. – Riaan Marais
