Pupils warned on gangster 'friends'

BECOMING a gangster starts with a choice of friends – make sure you choose the right ones.

This was the message pupils at Gelvandale High School in Port Elizabeth's gang-plagued northern areas heard on Friday when leaders, stakeholders and parents marched to the school as part of the Save our Children campaign.

The campaign, led by the Helenvale Programme Advisory Committee under the guidance of the Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA), aims to combat gangsterism in Helenvale by spreading awareness and helping youth and children to make better decisions. - Alvené du Plessis
