J-Bay man hit with R1m fine for raping girl

A PROMINENT Jeffreys Bay businessman, who raped a 15-year-old girl in the small town nine years ago, walked out of court a free man yesterday after being ordered to pay a R1-million fine.

An amount of R650000 will be paid to the victim, while R350000 will be paid to Child Welfare in Humansdorp.

Antonie le Roux, 65, was convicted in 2008 of raping the young girl while she was on her way to school on April 7 2005. - Kathryn Kimberley
