THERE was no laughter yesterday and no children playing in the muddy street where the Mambu and Hala families were mourning, after each household lost a son following a horrific car accident in Motherwell on Tuesday night.

Sibongeseni Mambu, 13, died at the scene and Vulwethu Hala, 11, died yesterday morning after an alleged drunk driver crushed the boys between his Ford Bantam and the Toyota Conquest they were pushing down Thokazi Street.

Their friend Lusindiso Soyamba, 14, was still receiving treatment for spinal injuries in the Livingstone Hospital yesterday. – Riaan Marais
