UCDP wants religion back in schools

UNITED Christian Democratic Party (UCDP) president Sipho Mfundisi wants religious instruction to be enforced in all schools, saying the absence of religious values is tearing down the fabric of society.

Mfundisi, who was campaigning in Port Elizabeth at the weekend, spoke strongly against homosexuality and abortions, saying they were unchristian. In an interview at the Pinkster Sending Kerk van God, in Arcadia, Mfundisi said: “As a Christian party we want people to have that hope that we would put religious values into government.

“We would insist on prayer and assemblies at schools every morning, as well as the return of religious instruction.” – Rochelle de Kock
