Planned day of joy ends in feuding over houses

WHAT was meant to be one of the happiest days for eight families turned into petty politicking between ANC and DA supporters in Nelson Mandela Bay when they could not be relocated because of confusion over who the legitimate beneficiaries of new homes were.

While a truck waited to relocate residents from Korsten's Zoza Street to newly built RDP houses in Roos Street in Schauderville, tensions ran high between those said to be getting relocated and the Schauderville Action Committee.

In total 28 families are to be relocated to the area from Zoza, Dan, Constantine and Nive streets. - Mkhululi Ndamase
