THE pleas of a Motherwell pupil were answered when Mfesane High School received a new fence.

More than 100 Transnet employees braved the scorching sun to erect the fence on Friday.

And it was all thanks to Grade 12 pupil Mandilakhe Sokathi, 20.

“I wrote a letter to Transnet in 2011 because I felt that we were not safe here at school. It was being vandalised and people were doing as they pleased because there was no fence,” Sokathi said. – Yoliswa Sobuwa
