SACP enters battle against gangsterism

ANGRY members of the South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Bay’s northern areas handed over a protest memorandum to police officials at the Cleary Park shopping centre yesterday.

The memorandum, undersigned by the party’s northern areas representative and spokesman David Davidson, listed residents from Gelvandale, Helenvale, Salt Lake and Arcadia who were killed and wounded by gangsters over the past two years.

The memorandum also requests that Mount Road police cluster commander General Dawie Rabie be fired as the party feels that the northern areas are “dying” under his reign.
