Gang associations denied in drive-by murder court case

FOUR men standing trial for a drive-by murder yesterday denied any involvement in the April 2010 attack or that they were gangsters.

Armien Potgieter, 30, Luzanne Roberts, 24, Romano Loxsen, 25, and Steven Sedras, 28, of Bethelsdorp and Bloemendal, are alleged members of the Kakmakers gang.

The four men face charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. A fifth accused, Charlton Francis, 24, was killed shortly after he indicated he would turn state witness.
