'Much achieved' in 20 years of freedom

THE government has done in 20 years what the apartheid government failed to do in 100 years. This is according to Evaluation and Monitoring Minister Collins Chabane, who said the next five years would be about creating the building blocks of the National Development Plan.

Chabane was in Port Elizabeth yesterday to address youth at a lecture and dialogue on "Twenty Years of Freedom", under the theme "South Africa: a better place to live in".

The event was attended by students, academics and council members, including mayor Ben Fihla, speaker Maria Hermans and mayoral committee member Wara Jikeka.
