Planned maintenance electricity supply
The electricity supply to the following rural areas will be disconnected between 8am and 5pm on Sunday, 30 March 2014 to enable essential refurbishment and maintenance work to be carried out, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality announced today (27/03/14).
Areas bounded by Witteklip, Van Stadens, Woodridge, Sunnyside, Thornhill, Matjiesfontein, Longmore, Limebank, Loerie Filtration Plant, Gamtoos Pumping Station, Gamtoos River Area, Gamtoos River Mouth, Mauritzkraal, Nocton Farm, Handsworth Estate and Savannah will be affected.
"In the event that the weather does not permit the scheduled interruption on 30 March 2014, the alternative date for the interruption will be Sunday, 6 April 2014," the municipality said in a statement.
The electricity supply to the Rosedale area will be also be interrupted between 7am and 5pm on Tuesday, 1 April 2014 for maintenance and upgrades
The entire area of Rosedale will be affected by the shutdown and in the event that the weather does not permit the scheduled interruption on 1 April 2014, the alternative date for the interruption will be Thursday, 3 April 2014.
According to the municipality there is no guarantee that supply will be off throughout the whole period stated and installations in all premises must still be regarded as being live during these hours.
