'Nkandla no threat to poll hopes', claims Ramaphosa

ANC deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa has played down the massive fallout from the Nkandla report, saying the public protector's findings will not dent the party in the run-up to the May elections.

Ramaphosa said this in an interview outside the Victory Ministries International Church in Gelvan Park, Port Elizabeth, after delivering a speech as part of the ANC's election campaign in Nelson Mandela Bay at the weekend.

He led a delegation of ANC national executive committee members, including Public Service Minister Lindiwe Sisulu and Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula, and provincial leaders, who went door to door in communities, churches, taverns and sports events in an effort to garner votes.
