Fourth Afrobot title for brothers

TWO brothers have won the Afrobot amateur robotics tournament at the annual Scifest Africa in Grahamstown for the fourth time in a row.
Joshua Taljard, 17, and Gideon, 16, are homeschooled on their farm, about 8km from Somerset East. Their mother, Adele, a former occupational therapist, said they had always been mechanically inclined since they were toddlers.
"At the age of two they were in the workshop with their dad Harold using power tools, under his supervision of course. So I ensured that more time was spent on maths and science and provided them with individual attention," she said. - Tremaine van Aardt
