ORGANISERS are promising the “mother of all beach festivals” for this year’s Splash Festival.
The popular event – which came together at the last minute last year, and only lasted a day – will take place at Hobie Beach from April 18 to 20.
With the exact lineup still to be confirmed, the festival promises water sport, music, craft and family entertainment.
There is still much to make up for after last year’s poor performance, when organisers only had two days to assemble stages, book performers and set up the entire festival. The already watered-down festival was finally washed out by continuous rain over the Easter long weekend.
This year, organisers Soul Good are more optimistic as they believe thousands of local, national and even international visitors will flock to Hobie Beach for the 24th instalment of Nelson Mandela Bay’s “flagship” festival.
The festival will be officially launched today, with more details. – Riaan Marais
