Mom accused of stealing from Bayworld

A UITENHAGE woman has been accused of stealing R200000 from the oceanarium and museum complex, Bayworld, and an additional R200000 from an internationally funded charity that cares for people with life-threatening illnesses.

Nomfundo Tshunungwa, 35, appeared in the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court yesterday.

Tshunungwa, of KwaNobuhle in Uitenhage, was employed as Bayworld's senior accounting clerk at the time of the alleged thefts between April and December last year.

At the time she was also treasurer of Ithemba Eliphilisayo Home Based Care in Uitenhage. - Kathryn Kimberley
