Herbal doctor 'to bring oomph to sector' for COPE

THE Congress of the People (COPE) is fielding bishop and herbal doctor Lievie Sharpley as its premier candidate for the Eastern Cape.

Two COPE Nelson Mandela Bay councillors have also come up on the party's provincial list and Bay regional secretary and councillor Rano Kayser has topped the party's province to national list.

COPE provincial chairman Mbulelo Ntenjwa, who is No3 on the provincial list, said the party felt that Sharpley would bring "oomph to the political sector".

Sharpley is well known in religious circles, particularly in the Transkei-Pondoland area. He is based in Port St Johns. - Rochelle de Kock
