Clash over shut museum

NEW Brighton residents opposed to Nelson Mandela Bay's iconic apartheid history centrepiece, the Red Location Museum, have allegedly been intimidated by those who want it reopened.
The museum has been closed since October to protect staff, visitors and the building from protesting residents who are disgruntled due to long-overdue rectification promised regarding their faulty RDP houses built after 1994.
The closure of the R22-million museum, which was opened in 2006, has cost ratepayers R2.5-million without a single visitor having benefited.
Community leader Ndyebo Mbambani alleged they were threatened on Friday by ANC Ward 15 Raymond Mhlaba unit member Mpumelelo Majola. -
