Oscar 'fine' after shots heard: Guard

A security guard at the townhouse complex where Oscar Pistorius lived spoke on Friday (07/03/2014) of gunshots his colleagues reported hearing around 3am on February 14 last year.

A security guard on bike patrol arrived at the entrance of the Silver Woods Country Estate and reported having heard gunshots, Pieter Baba told the High Court in Pretoria.

Baba is the shift leader and security guard at the estate.

Baba then drove with another guard in a bakkie to the home of radiologist Johan Stipp, who had called the guards to report gunshots.

Pistorius told Baba everything was fine.

"Mr Pistorius said to me, 'security, everything is fine'," testified Baba.

"I heard that he was crying," he said.

He told a colleague with him that he was sure that something was wrong.

Pistorius phoned him back and Pistorius just started crying over the phone and the line cut.

"I immediately told Jacob everything is not right," said Baba. - Sapa
