Case against local conman postponed again

ALLEGED conman Jason  Wood appeared in the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court this morning where his matter was once again postponed. The matter was postponed to March 26 for the defence to receive copies of the docket. Wood is represented by the Legal Aid Board. Wood , 40, has been in and out of court several times in the past year, facing a list of alleged offences involving up to R1.4-million. He was arrested last year after he allegedly fleeced investors in several cases between January 2011 and July 2012. Wood has two previous convictions for fraud and theft dating back to September 2005 and March 2009. He received suspended sentences in both instances. – Kathryn Kimberley
