New heads for infrastructure, water, power

THE Nelson Mandela Bay council has appointed two new permanent senior managers to head some of the most crucial service delivery departments in the city – infrastructure, water and electricity.
Former special programmes head Walter Shaidi – who has been acting executive director of infrastructure and engineering since April 2011 – was appointed by the council to run the directorate for the next five years.
Ali Said, the last permanent executive director of infrastructure and engineering, resigned in 2011.
