Xego's TB muti banned

Immutrition Pty Ltd – co-owned by Bay businessmen Mike Xego, Guy Saulez and furniture store owner Gary Karlson – had geared up to have R1.4-million worth of stock dispatched to the region's three TB hospitals tomorrow for a six-month trial run.

But the process was stopped in its tracks on Wednesday by Eastern Cape Health MEC Sicelo Gqobana because the product, Immutide Spray, had not undergone the required clinical tests.

The main ingredient listed on the back of the Immutides Spray container is bovine lacteal compound, also known as bovine colostrum.

According to Healthline.combovine, colostrum is the pre-milk fluid cows produce for two to four days after giving birth, and supplies the calf with essential growth, nutrient and immune factors.
