Plaudits for De Villiers

POLITICAL parties in Nelson Mandela Bay paid homage to outgoing DA caucus leader, councillor Leon de Villiers, who attended his last council meeting yesterday.

De Villiers, who is retiring after almost 20 years in politics, yesterday said he was looking forward to reading books instead of studying lengthy council agendas.

At the council meeting – also attended by De Villiers's wife of 40 years, Judy – councillors shared their fond memories of working with the DA leader.
