Clashes over metro police chief

IT has been a month since newly appointed metro police chief Pinkie Mathabathe reported for duty, but Nelson Mandela Bay's municipal bosses will only now begin scurrying around to make her appointment legal.
This comes after a fierce debate between the DA and ANC yesterday over whether or not Mathabathe was legally appointed, as her post does not feature on the municipality's staff organogram, nor has the budget been adjusted to pay her R1-million-a-year salary.
