Raped child too scared to testify

A TRAUMATISED eight-year-old girl who was violently raped, allegedly by a 33-year-old Port Elizabeth man, closed up yesterday and refused to recount the horrific ordeal because she was too scared to continue.
The Motherwell girl, who suffered injuries so severe that she is forced to wear a colostomy bag, is testifying in camera assisted by an intermediary at the trial of Xolile Tose, 33, of KwaNoxolo.
Tose has pleaded not guilty to the girl’s brutal December 2011 rape.
