Ex-rugby forward on attack to halt housebreaking gang

A BUSINESSMAN is on a mission to track down a housebreaker he believes is the ringleader behind a spate of house robberies over the past two months.

Armand du Preez has spent thousands of rands putting up posters of the alleged head of a syndicate that has been breaking into homes in and around Vanes Estate in Uitenhage.

The poster has the alleged suspect's picture and name and promises a reward. Former junior Springbok rugby player Du Preez, who owns Furnworld in Uitenhage, said he had taken his own initiative "to do what the police aren't".
