Foetus found in North End bin

THE body of a male foetus was found dumped in a bin in front of Pier 14 in North End, in an area where thousands of abortion stickers adorn walls and lampposts.

Police spokeswoman Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said the body was found on the corner of Govan Mbeki Avenue and Cawood Street by a municipal worker cleaning bins shortly after 10am. "The foetus was wrapped in plastic. The worker immediately alerted authorities. An inquest document has been opened and police are investigating the matter."
